Using Vinegar
Using vinegar as a way to clear acne is a remedy that is as old as vinegar itself and was actually how my grandmother told me to take care of my acne problem. Vinegar has some amazing health properties beginning with its anti microbial properties. Hippocrates prescribed it back in ancient Greece and its effectiveness in killing microbes is well tested. Being that acne is made worse by infections from microbes in the skin, it can be seen as to why its quite effective. Secondly, it is loaded in alpha-hydroxy acids which literally dissolve the clogged fat in your pores. Finally, while it is acidic, it isn’t too acidic when diluted properly and will lightly but safely dry out your pores. In lands without expensive acne solutions vinegar is the king!
Anti-acne vinegar solution
1 part apple cider vinegar (organic is best)
8 parts water
1 finely ground aspirin
ie. one spoonful of apple cider vinegar to eight spoonfuls of water.
The first thing you’re going to want to do is make sure that you’re not allergic to vinegar on your skin. The first time you try this, make sure you try this over a small area. After you’ve established that you are not allergic to apple cider vinegar, then wash your face like you would ordinarily and then apply some of this solution afterwards. Leave on and go to bed. Rinse and repeat this tactic two days on, one day off for two weeks and I guarantee you’ll see results.
Apple cider vinegar does have a smell to it, so you’ll want to make sure that you dilute it enough and that you wash your pillow cases often. (You should be doing this anyway when dealing with acne.) I haven’t found the smell to be too bad though and with eight parts of water you’ll find that you hardly smell it at all. The best thing about apple cider vinegar is that its cheap and that’s what we’re aiming for here. Apple cider as a way to get rid of acne is a winner and can be made as the first punch in a double whammy when combined with using honey!
