There are so many products out there that claim that they clear acne that it’s enough to make your head spin. Just put up a search in Google about acne cures and on the first page alone you’ll find two or three treatments that claim to get rid of acne overnight! Well, as an honest blogger and a former sufferer of acne, I’m here to tell you to save your money and don’t spend a dime on any of those
products. Why? Because there is no instant way to get rid of acne.
At the core, you need to understand what acne is. Acne is caused by pores in the skin getting clogged up with oil and other debris. Bacteria that feast on the oil causes your acne to get red and inflamed. It’s not too difficult to kill the bacteria off and begin unclogging pores but it takes a while for your skin to heal what are essentially dozens of tiny wounds and get back to looking normal. There isn’t a product in the world that can make this process go much faster than it already does.
So what’s the best way to clear acne?
1. Wash your face daily: The most important part in removing your acne is to keep those pores clear! The best way to do this is to get a really good face wash and to use it two to three times a day! You want to get a face wash that is gentle enough to use that often without over drying your skin. A lot of face washes are medicated which is great, but just because one face wash has twice the medication as the other doesn’t necessarily make it a better product.
2. Treat the real problem: If you already have a moderate to severe acne problem, you’re going to need to kill all that bacteria that is infecting your pores. There are a variety of products out there that do that. Trying out different products till you find the one that works the best for you but make sure that you give any products that you try at least two solid weeks before trying something else. A problem a lot of folks have is trying all the different ways to clear acne without sticking to one certain plan.
3. Expect the problem to get worse before it gets better: The best thing you can do is lower your expectations a bit on how fast you’re going to see improvements. In fact, most of the time products that really work well are a bit harsh on your acne at first and can cause it to get a bit redder and meaner before it starts to get better! Therefore, don’t get discouraged too quickly.
I know it can be frustrating at the speed in which it takes to get acne under control. I went through the same process and I’m living proof that it can be done! Whether you want to get rid of your acne naturally, or clear your acne with proven products persistence and routine are key!
