Baking Soda For Acne as a Spray/Toner – Sprays or toners are used after washing your face as an added guard against acne. As with all natural remedies you are going to want to try this on a small part of your face for the first time to make double sure that you are not allergic to baking soda. Begin by adding one to two tablespoons of baking soda to a standard spray bottle. Close and shake the bottle for a bit until you’re sure the baking soda is completely dissolved. Wash and pat dry your face and then spritz a bit onto your face and allow it to dry. There’s no need to wash it off and its invisible, however being self conscience as I am, I used this before I went to bed. I had no problems leaving it on all night.
Our Baking Soda For Acne Facial Mask Recipe
The facial mask recipe we have is the one we recommend people to use when trying out baking soda for acne. Most of the time you’re going to want to leave the mask on for twenty minutes, but the first time you try it only leave on for about seven so you can get a good idea of your bodies tolerance to the baking soda.
1) Wash your face completely and thoroughly before wearing the baking soda mask.
2) Mix equal parts of baking soda and water to get a thick “paste”
3) Spread onto your face evenly and then massage and work in for five minutes using your fingers to massage your face in a circular motion.
4) Leave the mask on for 7 minutes your first time and up to 20 minutes every time afterwards depending on your skins tolerance.
5) Moisturize your skin with a non-oil based moisturizer.
Note: When using the mask, you’ll want to relax during the twenty minutes so that your mask doesn’t cake or peel off. Try not to speak or make facial expressions. In other words, be ready to relax for a little while!
Our Quick Baking Soda For Acne Facial Scrub Recipe
Our facial scrub recipe works as a micro dermabrasion that helps wear away dead skin, open clogged pores, soak up and gently remove oil, and finally dry out any pimples. Best to do this late in the evening before bed.
1) Mix up a half cup of baking soda and 1/8th cup water to form a thick paste.
2) Gentle massage the thick paste onto your face using your fingertips! The trick here is not to scrub your face, but just slowly work the baking soda in and allowing it to work as a sort of dermabrasion. Continue this massage for two minutes.
3) Rinse your face off with WARM (not hot!) water.
4) Pat dry face with a clean towel.
5) Moisturize face with any non-oil based moisturizer as baking soda can dry out sensitive skin.
